I am a writer and speaker dedicated to empowering students to explore, define, and achieve their career goals. While my focus is on the health professions, my interests extend to supporting career development in all fields. I really enjoy sharing my knowledge and perspective with students and professionals around the world.

Since I work full-time for an education-focused non-profit, I do not take on private advising clients or do any outside consulting work.

Writing has always been a passion of mine and for many years, I wanted to write a book that would capture the insights and information I have gained throughout my advising career. It was also gratifying to work with my father on the book project. The first edition of Your White Coat is Waiting was published in late May 2019 and is available in paperback and Kindle editions on Amazon. It debuted at #1 for Education Counseling and Career Development Counseling. Dr. Kirby and I are currently working on the second edition, which will debut in the spring of 2022.

Being a guest speaker enables me to support inspiring organizations doing incredibly important work. A great example is Patients R Waiting, a non-profit dedicated to eliminating health disparities by increasing diversity in medicine. I feel proud to speaking at their annual Diversity in Medicine Conference again this year. When they purchased copies of my book, I donated a matching amount so that significantly more conference attendees could receive it.
